Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Pune for a visit today. In connection with his visit, the Yerwada police have apprehended a suspect for possessing fake identification cards like Aadhaar and voter IDs.
The investigation is ongoing in this case. The arrested individual is Abdulah Rumi, a 48-year-old man currently living at Relax PG Services in Somnathnagar, Vadgaon Sherry. Assistant Police Inspector Mahesh Lamkhede has lodged a complaint at the Yerawada Police Station regarding this matter. It has been revealed that Rumi is originally from Tamil Nadu.
During the Prime Minister’s visit, the police were investigating suspects. They received information that one suspect was stopped near Golf Club Chowk in Yerawada and found with a fake Aadhaar card. The police detained him and later arrested him for having both a fake Aadhaar card and a fake voter ID card. A case has been filed against him for creating these fake documents to deceive others.
The investigation is ongoing to determine why this person, Rumi, created these fake cards. Senior Police Inspector Santosh Patil is guiding the investigation, led by Assistant Inspector Daedmise.
