“PM Hails Supreme Court’s Rejection of VVPAT Pleas as a Tight Slap to Opposition”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently stated that the Supreme Court’s decision to dismiss requests for cross-verification of votes using EVMs with VVPAT was a strong rebuttal to the Opposition.

He suggested that the Opposition owed an apology to the nation for their stance. These remarks were made during the Prime Minister’s speech at an election rally held in Araria, Bihar.

Today, the Prime Minister expressed his joy as the Supreme Court dismissed requests for full cross-verification of votes cast via EVMs with VVPATs. He criticized the Opposition for constantly raising concerns about EVMs, calling their actions damaging to the nation and our democratic process.PM Modi stated that while the world appreciates our democracy and electoral system, the Opposition’s distrust in the system only serves their personal agendas.

He demanded an apology from the Opposition for creating unnecessary doubts and tarnishing the democratic process. The Supreme Court highlighted that blindly distrusting any part of the system could lead to unfounded skepticism.

In a recent decision, Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta emphasized that democracy thrives on establishing harmony and trust among various institutions. They jointly concluded on the matter and rejected all petitions, including those advocating for a return to using ballot papers in elections.

At the rally, the Prime Minister accused the Congress party of plotting to strip away the rights of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes (OBCs).

He stated, “The Congress has schemed to remove the privileges of SCs, STs, and OBCs, and I say this with absolute seriousness.

“He also brought up Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s view that India shouldn’t have reservations based on religion. The Prime Minister claimed that the Congress is pushing for religion-based reservations, particularly following the Karnataka model. He alleged that the Congress party has let down the OBC community by adding all Muslims in Karnataka to the OBC category, regardless of their financial conditions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the RJD-Congress alliance, accusing them of neglecting India’s Constitution and obstructing people’s voting rights. He claimed that for decades, they prevented citizens from voting and are now attempting to discredit the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) because honest voters have embraced them. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal commended the Supreme Court’s ruling, highlighting that it has unveiled the opposition parties, specifically the Congress, for their continuous efforts to tarnish the Election Commission’s reputation.
